01 / THE OBJECTIVE

Start with the business need.

An adoption organization serves several audiences at once: prospective adopters, volunteers, foster homes, and existing supporters. The design objective is to make those paths understandable while keeping the animals and the organization’s mission at the center.

02 / DESIGN APPROACH

Make the useful things clear.

The website organizes information around the actions a visitor may want to take. Hound listings create a route into adoption, while policies, required reading, and FAQs help people understand the process before applying. Volunteer and foster information provides a different entry point for people who want to help.

03 / PRACTICAL FEATURES

What makes it work.

A place for the hounds

The “Our Hounds” section gives the animals a visible place in the site’s structure.

An explained adoption process

Reading, policies, fees, FAQs, and an online application form help visitors prepare for the next step.

Volunteer and foster pathways

Supporters can find information and a separate application route for helping the organization.

Connected community resources

Contact details, events, and links to additional resources support the wider community around the organization.

04 / BEHIND THE SCENES

The right technical scope.

The project brings together public information, hound listings, and structured application forms. The important work is the relationship between those pieces: helping people understand the process before choosing the appropriate application. This case study covers the public website rather than a shelter-management system.

05 / THE OUTCOME

A more useful place to land.

The website provides a central reference point for the organization’s different audiences. Its value is in connecting interest with the appropriate next step: learn, apply, volunteer, foster, or contact the team.

Project outcomes describe the website and its capabilities, not unverified traffic, revenue, or conversion gains.
